5 Steps to Wow Your Clients & Book More Weddings!

1. Ask Questions

We all want to feel heard and seen. So does your (potential) client.

  • Set up a video hangout or at minimum a phone call

  • Who are you? Tell us about you and your wedding. Solve their problems.

  • And please don’t forget to use their name and congratulate them on their engagement! They can’t hear it enough.

2. Go above and beyond

  • Underpromise, overdeliver on your client experience.

  • Don’t just meet their expectations. Have their product to them before they expect it.

  • Go above and beyond for every person you meet that day, not JUST the bride.

  • Act this way with each of her bridesmaids, moms, Dad’s, cousins, sisters, brothers, etc. You never know who is important to that person so the rule of thumb is just to treat everyone the way you’d like to be treated at the most important time of your life.

  • Remember you’re a 5-star service, act like one!

3. Be organized and a top quality professional to wow your clients and book more clients

Client management tools can be helpful; even use a google doc.

  • Be responsive and flexible as much as reasonably as possible.

  • Even when what she requests is anything but traditional, give her what she wants! I’m not saying to be aware of your reputation but work with her to find a mutually beneficial look, service, or end product. Get to the wedding early and prepared.

  • Use top quality products. Yes, she notices! Especially if this is your “Angel bride or couple”. She wants the best and therefore, that’s why she’ll pay you more for this.

  • Be supportive, responsive and encouraging from the first moment you initially speak right up to the wedding.

4. Be your bride’s best friend

  • Be of true service.

  • Build trust.

  • Be an absolute pleasure to work with.

  • Be prompt, easy to work with, fun and friendly! Be sure to be timely, courteous, while showing off your talent. Make reasonable compensations for their schedule.

  • Be more concerned than your wedding client to ensure she/he has a perfect face or pictures or food, etc. for the wedding day and even flexible on the day of the wedding to add in an extra person who wants their makeup done as well.

  • Gain an advocate for your wedding business.

5. Have before and after pictures taken

(if you’re a makeup artist, from the trial) that they can take home with them to keep your business top of mind.

  • Give them same day quick snapshot that they can view immediately after the wedding. Use this to share on social media yourself a few days to a week or so after! (keep in mind this normally takes several weeks to months for them to get the final product, video/images).

  • Use an app like blogstomp to share them quickly and watermark the images that go out initially (don’t do this to the images you share with the people you worked directly with from the wedding or shoot).

  • These people will do all of your word of mouth marketing for you so you can make more money!
